Stewart, Edward Lee (P2, C4, L21)

Stewart, E. L 001Staff Sergeant Edward L. Stewart was born 31 May 1925, at Corton, Harlan County, Kentucky. He enlisted in the Kentucky National Guard at Harlan, Harlan County, Kentucky, on 18 October 1939, with Company A, 149th Infantry. He was inducted into federal service with his unit on 17 January 1941. At the time of induction he was living at Keith, Harlan County, Kentucky. Stewart was killed in action on 7 December 1944, and is buried in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, Pulaski County, Kentucky.
