Rogers, Timothy J. (P3, C1, L37)
Private First Class Timothy J. Rogers, 19, of Corbin, Whitley County, Kentucky, passed away on 27 July 2009, at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn, as the result of a traffic accident while on the way home from annual training. He was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 149th Infantry. Rogers was a graduate of Corbin High School and had attended his first year of college at Eastern Kentucky University. He is buried in the McHargue Cemetery, Lily, Laurel County, Kentucky.
According to published accounts, Rogers was returning home from the Somerset armory after returning from a two-week annual training in Pennsylvania. His truck left the roadway and struck a tree just outside of Corbin city limits some two miles from his home.
