Karr, William Lee (P2, C3, L5)

Karr, W. LPrivate First Class William L. Karr was born on 12 August 1920, at Williamsburg, Whitley County, Kentucky. He enlisted in the Kentucky National Guard at Williamsburg on 2 September 1939, with Company D, 149th Infantry. He was inducted in federal service on 20 January 1941. On 5 December 1941, he was relieved from active duty and returned to state control. Karr was recalled to active duty on 13 January 1942.  On 26 June 1945, he was killed in action. Karr is buried in the Maple Creek Cemetery, Williamsburg, Whitley County, Kentuckykarr william l headstone.
