Alley, Willie

Alley WillieP(P2, C1, L3)

Private Willie Alley, 27, of Barbourville, Knox County, Kentucky, joined Company C of the 149th Infantry in Barbourville on 16 November 1937. He left the Guard to move to another state in August 1938 but returned in September of that same year and served until his unit was federalized for active duty on 17 January 1941. In his civilian life he was a farmer, truck driver and worked in a lumber mill. He died in action in 1944 and is buried at the Pineville Cemetery in Bell County.
